It's been a while since the Nature Club made a field trip to All Things Wild. Thanks to Roger Rucker, we enjoyed the first of three trips planned for 2025.

The photos posted here were all taken by Steve Heap.

We saw the animals, then enjoyed our lunch at Dale's Essenhaus. Dale stopped by to say hello, which is always nice.

Can't wait for the next trip.

This cute donkey is NOT at All Things Wild, but Blue Moon Donkey Sanctuary is just next door. The donkeys came up to the fence when they saw us---expecting us to bring them carrots. The baby donkeys are adorable.

You can't really see them, but there are three baby squirrels inside the cage waiting until they are old enough to be released. We could see their little cream-colored bellies as they climbed up the sides of the cage. While we were watching them, a wild squirrel came running across the field and jumped onto the outside of the cage. I'm pretty sure he was taunting them that he was running free outside while they have to wait to get out.

There were lots of baby opossums. Most were hanging in a hammock, but these were out for us to see.

How's this for a beauty? When I think of owls, this is exactly what I see. Look at those talons.
